At this moment, I am a 60 year old lady living with a 61 year old husband of 41 years. I have a loving son, Scott, who is mentally challenged (aka mentally retarded), and a beautiful daughter, Dawn who lives near Boston with her husband and son. I never understood what all the hoopla was about being a grandparent - now I do! I am the poster child for the obnoxious old lady with photos in hand!

From son, to husband to daddy to grampy..

Ed Wilson has done quite the transformation during his life... Pictures of him from childhood (and stories from his siblings) make him to be the original "Dennis the Menace"! In fact, we even have a picture of him swinging a slingshot!

Later in life, the USAF made a man out of that rebellious boy and he became my husband. (Although he still had a wild streak!)

Then he became a daddy to Scott and later Dawn. His heartstrings really got a tug with each birth! Hard to be "tough" when you are covered in baby slobber!!

There have been lots of stumbles over the past two years with Sawyer... but he is still grampy's boy! One big kid having a ball with a much shorter little guy!

During our last visit to MA to see Dawn and her family, Ed fell in love again- with a sweet little lady named "Gwen". He patted, and hugged and burped this little bundle of joy and felt another heart string "pop".

We question a lot of the decisions we make over the years and second guess our youthful choices. Not this one! If I could go back and do it all over again - knowing what I know now - I would not change a thing.

Father's Day is special because I made that right choice 43 years ago - choosing a life mate is important but choosing the father of your children is a gigantic responsibility! Of all the things I have done - of all the gifts I have given to my children over the years - the choice of their father was the best gift I could ever have given to them! I know without a doubt - I did the right thing!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY ED!
